Our Clients Made an Impact - Here's What We Gave (Thanks to You)!
Because of you, we donated over $2,200 to 20 classroom projects, directly impacting more than 3,000 students across the country.
From Brooklyn to Charlotte, LA to Atlanta — your events turned into school supplies, sensory tools, STEM kits, library upgrades, and creative inspiration.
Earlier this summer, we launched something new at Throwback: for every event booked during the promo period, we pledged to donate 5% of revenue to a local classroom through DonorsChoose - helping teachers get the supplies they need to make learning joyful, creative, and hands-on.
The results? Thanks to our amazing clients, we got to fund over two dozen classroom projects around the country.
Let’s take a quick victory lap!
Brooklyn & NYC:
Turf rugs and plastic weights helped a Pre-K class without outdoor space create an indoor "field" for exercise and play
Dot markers, paint sticks, sensory tools, and fidget mazes gave little learners the tools to express themselves and regulate emotions
Special education students received puzzles, manipulatives, and sensory toys to support their growth through movement and play
A videography club got its first real camera to start creating student-led media
A Bronx school library transformed into a “book café” with tea, art supplies, and warm, welcoming vibes for students from three schools
Third graders became published authors, writing and illustrating their very own books to keep forever
Newcomer students at a high school received supplies to stay organized and engaged in learning English
One DC educator helped students with special needs access reading through tablets and headphones, boosting confidence and literacy
Dozens of kids got summer learning kits full of chalk, beach balls, and sensory-friendly games to keep learning playful even in July
Charlotte, NC:
A Title I school received new sports gear and footballs, helping hundreds of students stay active while learning teamwork, coordination, and leadership
Printer ink and mesh bags will keep classroom logistics running smoothly, supporting a wide variety of learners
Washington, DC:
A school library got a facelift with shelf markers and storage carts for their new 3D printer
Another teacher built personalized supply kits so no child would have to miss homework due to lack of basic materials
Los Angeles:
Students were gifted PE equipment that helps build not only physical strength, but resilience and emotional regulation
A dedicated PE teacher gave away sports gear as incentives for academic effort — proving gym class can motivate across subjects
Atlanta:
One school used giant cage balls to teach math through movement, reinforcing fractions, patterns, and number sense in a dynamic way
A high school weight room added an iPad for workouts, helping students review form, track performance, and learn visual feedback skills
A local librarian received a Cricut, yarn kit, and interactive whiteboard, turning the library into a mini-makerspace
Making Play Matter
Throwback was built on the idea that Play brings people together. Whether it’s coworkers competing in tug-of-war or students building a robot from scratch, the power of play goes beyond fun. It builds connection, confidence, and creativity.
But not every kid gets that opportunity.
Tight school budgets and systemic inequities often mean that the students who need those moments of joy the most are the least likely to get them. Teachers are filling in the gaps, often spending out of pocket to provide the basics.
Through DonorsChoose, we were able to turn adult field days into something even bigger - moments of support, surprise, and possibility for classrooms across the country.
We’re proud to support the next generation and grateful to everyone who helped us make it happen!
Let’s Keep It Going
This was just the beginning. We plan to continue supporting local classrooms in future campaigns, and we hope you’ll be part of it!
